Keith’s early musical interests began with piano at age 6, composing by 13. Playing drums and percussion, Keith played professionally with local Victo-ria band Holy Smoke, with whom he toured Canada and performed at Van-couver's Pacific Coliseum in 1974, opening for T-Rex. At age 24 Keith moved to LA to play with Nick Gilder (Hot Child in the City). Four years later he returned home to Vancouver Island where he developed his interests in music production and recording. Keith's musical focus shifted to a more organic and holistic approach through his love of nature and the realization of the rich percussive quality of the natural environment. Keith's interests peaked as he collected various authentic world instruments. It became possible to create music through di-verse instruments and natural percussive sounds. The Tumbara project be-came the focus for Keith's musical expression and the opportunity to create the music he felt needed to be born.
