The first of the Brazilectro sessions was released in the fall of 2000 on SPV imprint, Audiopharm. At the time it was a one-of-a-kind compilation that sought to cross musical borders from many genres and styles to reflect the music of Brazil in quite a unique way. European, American, Japanese and Brazilian artists of the electro-scene were brought together to create new Latin based tunes or rearrange famous classics.
Since it's inception, recognition of the Brazilectro series has steadily increased resulting in sales of over 200,000 worldwide. Along with its rising popularity came a number of imitators who have yet to achieve the high standards set by Audiopharm which, entail first-class musicians from around the world, lavish packaging, rare tracks and exclusive remixes.
On Brazilectro 7 we find highlights from England, Canada, Austria, Italy, Denmark, Germany, US and of course, Brazil. The double-disc Session 7 features twenty-four songs including exclusive tracks from Victor Davies, Attic Tree, Emo, Soulsurfer, The Non Material as well as new music by Intuit, Juca Chaves, Phuturistix and The JuJu Orchestra. Whether you call it Lounge, Downbeat, Contemporary Soulmusic, Neo Bossa, NuJazz, Breakbeat or Broken Beats, one thing can't be denied, Brazilectro -Session 7 is a deep, jazzy and beautiful soundtrack for the upcoming summer.
