All Aum Rudraksha Designs malas are made to the specific spiritual numbers of beads: 108 / 72 / 54. In our gold work we use top quality 22 karat gold. (Prices of gold malas are subject to change with fluctuation of world gold prices.) For silver we use highest quality 92.5% sterling.
The rudraksha beads Aum Rudraksha Designs uses are grown on sustainable plantations in South East Asia. All beads are authentic and we only use the best. We also check the vibration (power) of our beads and gemstones and use the best in our mala jewelry for their power and healing properties. All our malas are now purified and empowered through a Balinese blessing ceremony.
The Rudraksha bead we mainly use is five mukhi. This is the bead that represents Lord Shiva. The name ‘rudraksha’ stems from Hindu mythology and means “the eyes of Shiva.” It is widely believed that the god meditated on the welfare of mankind. He emerged crying tears of compassion. The tears upon hitting the earth crystallized to form the rudraksha trees. The smaller rudraksha beads are the rarest, the hardest found and grown, and aare therefore more costly. The beads have a very long life, sometimes known to last up to 8 generations.
Rudraksha beads are sacred and need to be treated with respect and care. Wash them once in a while to remove dirt and dust. Oil them with coconut or sandalwood oil to preserve them. They will turn darker with your own body oil when wearing them. This is the desired effect. Take them off when you sleep.
