Pray Love Rudraksha Mala of 108 Prayer Beads, Gold and Carnelian Rudraksha Mala featured in the film Eat, Pray, Love with Julia Roberts, is a meditation tool for yoga and contemplation.
Pray Love Rudraksha Mala is one of the malas gifted to Julia Roberts during the filming of Eat Pray Love in Bali. Carnelian protects the wearer from all kinds of negativity and helps to focus the mind and aid in decision making. It can be cooling to the body and increase stamina and self confidence. These unique handcrafted jewelry pieces are lovingly made in Bali. Each bead has been picked, blessed, and chosen for its "energy" level. Made with rudraksha beads of uncommon size, more commonly found rudrakshas are much larger. The smaller the rudraksha, the more rare and the more potent its energy is. A rudraksha is believed to impart different types of benefits according to the number of segments (similar to that of an orange) or mukhi. We use only rudrakshas of five mukhi. It is traditionally believed that they can destroy negative thought and grant the wearer peace of mind, clarity, and purpose. Rudrakshas can have a very long life, known to last up to eight generations. They are considered sacred and need to be treated with respect and care. Wash them occasionally to remove dirt and dust. Oil them with coconut or sandalwood oil to preserve them. They will naturally turn darker with your own body oil, this is the desired effect as they will grow stronger. Keep in a place of sanctity. Remove when you sleep. Our beads are authentic, sustainably harvested, fairly traded and ethically produced.
From our designer Soma in Bali, "I had a feeling about this since the moment that I saw the book Eat, Pray and Love. So when I heard that they were making a movie and would be filming in India and Bali, I immediately heard the voice, get our mala's in this movie. When we heard they were auditioning for a male drummer/blonde/australian, of course Shiva (Shane) went to audition for the part (which he didn't get) with a note explaining and a bag of mala's. The photographer that was filming the auditions was very kind and said she would take them and get them into the right hands as she understood the significance of the beads. A week or so later another person showed up in the office as friend of a client in London to pick up her stuff, well of course he was involved in a lot of aspects of the movie and has a television series himself in London. He said absolutely he could get them into the right hands, so off go a second bag of mala's. Well, the crew received them in India and Julia was seen wearing them during the filming!"
"Next the film crew moves to Bali and I try out as "extra's", just people shopping in the market place (you will be lucky to see us passing by in front of the Wayan's healing center). Well I was moving around the canteen, the movie set etc, and noticed one guy that I saw kept bringing food etc to one of the big mobile homes, I thought for sure this is Julia Roberts assistant so…I approached him in the canteen and asked him. He was very friendly and I told him about the mala's that I wanted them given personally to Julia Roberts for herself as gifts. He was very happy to take them, and promised to give them directly to her. Well 15 minutes later I see her being wisked off to the set and also they called for the extra's to be on the street shopping. So…off we go, they start filming, I am wandering up the street like I am shopping… I walk back to my spot and Julia and her assistant walk by on the street to her starting point and he says to her, pointing to me "that is the girl with the mala's." Julia Roberts turned immediately and walked straight over to me and gave me a BIG hug, maybe 10 second hug!! And then said "Thank you so much for your gift, was generous of you, I absolutely love the mala's and have given all my girlfriends one already!! And then she hugged me again and said "also your note was very sweet and touched me." Thank you. WOW!!!! This all took place in front of the camara's, the director, all the crew and actors, and extra's! I was blown away and then life went on and we did two more takes!! I was an extra for the next day too, and saw a few of the mala's being worn, by various hollywood people (her hairdresser)! So this is exciting news for the Mala's. If nothing else, it's wonderful to know that Julia appreciates them, and the movie itself will bring awareness of the beads as they are featured in the movie. I thank you all for the great job you are doing of spreading the Peace and Love with the beads."
