Some chants are called Mantras. In the ancient Sanskrit language, the word ‘mantra’ means ‘mind protection’. It is by repeating a sacred phrase, word or mantra that the mind is focused and idle or troublesome thoughts are kept away, thus clearing the mind for divine inspiration.
