The Republic of South Africa located at the southern tip of Africa, has a very lively music scene and a great diversity in different music styles, which result from tradition of the musicians during the Apartheid. From classical protest songs to traditional world music, jazz, rap and pop music, the music scene is alive. Many who sang in Afrikaans or English during Apartheid have since begun to sing in traditional African languages, and have developed unique styles.
