Visions and Healing CD by Ben Tavera King is a unique combination of meditation music of the Native American flute and 12-string guitar reflecting a musical fusion found amoung Native people's of the Western Hemisphere. Most often the music is used by tribal 'medicine men' in healing ceremonies and rituals.
Visions and Healing is a combination of Native wooden flutes and a collection of string instruments with European roots, but played with a unique Native flair. The way the guitars, charangos and mandolins are tuned have little to do with the instruments' European heritage. Native musicians alter the instruments' tuning to reflect their own sensibilities and culture. Using this unique fusion, with its 500 year history, as a starting point guitarist Ben Taverna King has crafted nine compositions.
Visions and Healing has been in the 'Top 20' for New Age Radio airplay for several months now.
