| Awakening Primal Spirit |
This is a soundtrack of sorts to Micheline Berry's unique ecstatic dance experience dubbed 'Zen Dancing'. This ritual-like practice unites trancendance, spiritual intoxication and live music in an attempt to awaken the primal spirit within.
For each of these events, Craig Kohland and his Shaman's Dream ethnic music ensemble provide invigorating rhythmic music; a sampling of those sounds was compiled for this album. Included are artists like Dave Stringer, Jim McGrath, Domonic Dean Breaux and Antoine Bonsorte with Anima.
Most of these tracks have heavy tribal feel to them, with Asian and African elements fleshing out the backdrops. Zen Dancing may not be available in your town, however with this album you can develop your own sort of moving meditation to accompany any sort of mind-body endeavor you choose to embark on.
