On this CD, western flautist Dean Evenson brings his skill on the western flute to a contemplative suite of Eastern style compositions, performed with Chinese guqin master Li Xiangting. This will certainly appeal to anyone with an interest in Eastern spirituality and culture, or such practices as feng shui and tai chi. But the music has an appeal that transcends its cultural matrix, making it enjoyable on its own merits.
