| There's No Place Like Ohm |
| Reviewed in Sounds From the Ground Up by Mara Applebaum - October 2004, New Age Retailer |
|
A fascinating and original endeavor in healing music, There's No Place Like Ohm defies traditional New Age keyboard sounds. Musician and Asian-arts healer Marjorie de Muynck offers seven uninterrupted tracks geared to orient listeners to a grounding earth tone. While keyboardist Will Dowd centers the music with continuous sound, de Muynckhighlights the deep, hypnotic Armenian duduk and Orville Johnson's banjo and electric guitar to create a stressless atmosphere for listeners. Her didgeridoo and American Indian flute, as well as nature sounds, are included. Although There's No Place Like Ohm might be too relaxing for in-store play, be sure to recommend it to healing-arts practitioners and customers who engage in yoga and meditation.
